Principal’s Message

During the 2005-2006 school year, Greenfield High School staff and site administration continued to work toward a standards-based curriculum in order to provide a quality education for our students. We pride ourselves on academic excellence balanced with co-curricular and extra-curricular activities available for any student who is interested. Through the support of our parents and our community we are able to model responsibility to all stakeholders and provide our students the opportunity to show their responsibility to their family, friends and community. Our hidden strength is in our support staff, parents, booster groups and community support. In a small town, these groups are intertwined and understand the importance of an education. They all support Greenfield High School and the activities that go on here, even to the extent that they provide our students with over $100,000 in local scholarships. During this school year the Student Advisory Group continued to advise the administration of issues on campus. This group is composed of students representing every grade, both genders, and from all sub-groups on campus. I don’t believe there is a group on our campus that is not represented. We meet with these students once a month. During that time they bring concerns to the group. We discuss and work to solve these campus-wide concerns. As a staff, we in turn bring issues and concerns to the students. We have discussed issues of race and tolerance, and the student participants have helped develop a policy on cell phone use, dress code, trash on campus, and similar issues. The working relationship Greenfield High School has with the students, parents and the community has been a very positive experience for the high school staff and for the community in general. Thank you all for your support and dedication to the youth of our community.
