September 26, 2007

I. Meeting was called to order at 6:05pm

II. Minutes from August 29, 2007 were approved. Motion by Denise, 2nd by Mike.

III. There was no Treasurer’s report because Betsy was unable to attend.

IV. There was no Athletic Department Update because Ken was unable to attend.

V. Old Business:

a. Program Ads: Donna said that some parents commented that there was no mention of Softball in the program. Margie told her that it was due to the fact that was no schedule for Softball, Swimming, or Golf at the time of printing. Donna suggested that next year we should at least mention those teams.

b. Hall of Fame Game Dinner went well. Everyone seemed to enjoy the dinner and conversation. They also enjoyed being able to watch the JV game.

c. Concession

i. Concession sales in the Gym are down due to the fact that no food or drink is allowed in the gym. This is due to the mess that the fans are leaving and the damage it is doing. Because Mustang Bench uses this money to help fund the school sports, it was proposed that we talk to Daniel about letting food and water back into the gym if we get a clean up crew of parents for after the games. Brent said that he would approach Daniel with our proposal.

ii. New T-Shirts: Margie informed everyone that there are new t-shirts for sale at the concession stand. They have the Mustang head with the words “Stang Gang” around it.

iii. Tattoos: The senior class is selling face tattoos and it went over very well at the last home game. They have special ones for Homecoming.

d. The Benches and Gym Chairs are still not here and Betsy told Donna that the company dropped the ball and forgot to have her approve the art work so it will be another 3-4 weeks for the chairs.

VI. New Business

a. Margie told everyone that last home game we had decided to feed all the players for both schools since last year the Salinas school did that for us. Each player got a bag with a Hamburger, Granola Bar, Rice Crispy Treat, and water. There was a miscommunication and not all of the Varsity players got their food. We ended up throwing out about 30 bags.

b. Richard asked if the meat slicer was back and if it needed to be repaired. He said that if it needs work it could be done fairly quickly and if we need a new one we need to do it soon in order to have it for Homecoming.

c. Margie said that we need to come up with another fundraiser. Donna brought up the Texas Hold’em tournament that Betsy was working on last year. Cinda said that maybe we could work with the Valley Bears on this. Richard said he could get some information from the Hospital on how they did theirs. Margie will talk to Betsy about it and possibly having it at the beginning of Nov.

d. It was brought to our attention that some of the visiting team’s parents complained that the entry prices were not visible. This is a Leadership responsibility and Margie will let them know.

VII. The next meeting will be on October 30 at 7:00 pm.

VIII. Meeting was adjourned at 6:45 pm.
