For several years a number of local organizations and individuals have provided scholarships for King City High School students. They have coordinated their selection procedure through King City High School. Most sponsors will meet on a given night to select their recipients. This year scholarship interview night will be, Thursday, April 19, 2006 at 6:00 PM in the King City High School cafeteria.

The scholarships will be presented at a banquet scheduled for, Thursday, May 24, 2006 at 6:00 PM in the Orradre building at the Salinas Valley Fair grounds.

Locally, there are some sponsors who consider need as a major factor, but others feel that qualified applicants who have little or no financial need should receive a scholarship for recognition of achievement. It should be mentioned, however, that on the selection night, the sponsors will confer together after the recipients are chosen in an attempt to distribute the scholarships as equitable as possible.

If you are chosen to receive a scholarship you will be required to show proof of full time enrollment in school for 2006-2007. Most local scholarships grant half of the scholarship the first semester and half the second semester.

Scholarships are subject to change. Some may be deleted and new ones may be added.
