Students in our district participate in the Standardized Testing and Reporting Program (STAR). The STAR, which is authorized by state law until 2011, is an important part of the California Assessment system.

The tests in the STAR Program ensure that information about the academic achievement of all students is collected on a regular basis. This information is critical in evaluating the quality of the education provided for California.

Each school report will contain the number of students in each performance level for English/Language Arts and Mathematics, the percent of students who are Proficient in ELA and Math, and the current school Academic Performance Index (API). The API has a range from 200 - 1000.
