Welcome to PowerSchool, San Lorenzo Middle School's new student information system. You can access your son or daughter's school performance in real time and monitor his/her progress, grades and attendance. Read below for the most commonly asked questions. -How do I request a Username and Password for PowerSchool?

Information and request forms are available to parents through the SLMS office. These forms will also be mailed home to parents. This form must be returned to SLMS. Once we receive your written request, we will send an email to the address you specify with your parent username and password. If you did not receive the request form, please stop by the SLMS office to request a username and password. No usernames or passwords will be given out over the phone.

-Can I access PowerSchool using my child's username and password?

Yes you can, but the student portal allows access to fewer features than the parent portal.

-My child forgot his/her username, should I allow him/her to use mine?

No, please do not give your username or password out to anyone else. The parent portal allows access to more features than the student portal including automated email notifications.

-I lost my username and password. What should I do?

You will need to visit the SLMS office and request a new username and password. Please bring photo identification with you for security purposes. Students may obtain their lost password through their language arts teacher.

-Can I print what I see?

Yes you can, use the print icon at the bottom of most pages.

-Do I need to logout of PowerSchool?

Yes, when you are finished, please logout or shutdown your computer. This way no one will be able to access your child's private information.

-Some of the grade information is incorrect or missing. What gives?

We ask for your patience while getting our staff trained in the advanced features of PowerSchool. If you have any questions regarding grades or attendance information from a specific staff member, please use the email link provided to request clarification.

-If I don't see my question answered here, what should I do?

You may email powerhelp at kcusd.org with any unanswered questions.

-My username/password does not work.

Please check to see that you are distinguishing between O (the letter) and 0 (the number). Usernames and passwords are NOT case sensitive. If you are sure you are entering the information correctly and are not able to connect, email powerhelp at kcusd.org for assistance.

-When I log in, I get an error message stating my log-in has expired.

For security reasons, you will automatically be logged out if your screen is inactive for a specific length of time. Log in again to fix the problem. If the problem persists and you are using Internet Explorer, try using Firefox, Netscape, or Safari instead.
